Cashing in on Keno
New Pine Creek holds the title of Oregon’s southernmost community, right on the California border, and technically below the 42nd parallel that separates Oregon from California. It is way out there in Lake County that Mike lives and likes to play Keno, often with his brother, Keith. The two of them have played the same meaningful numbers for many years – their daughter’s birth dates.
With the last of his lottery “fun” money for the month, Mike, a disabled Army veteran who served in Vietnam, stopped off at a Safeway in Lakeview. Among his purchases was his favorite game – a Keno ticket. To his great surprise, the birth date numbers hit and gave him his largest win to date! The $200,000 jackpot was a big shock, and he immediately texted his daughters to share the good news. With his windfall, Mike hopes to find a new condo in Reno, which will bring him closer to an excellent VA hospital. Thank you for your service, Mike!
