Proposed Rule

Lottery has proposed a new progressive approach to contract compliance with the goal of reducing contract terminations for violations that do not pose an ongoing threat to the fairness, integrity, security, or honesty of the Lottery. Most retailers never have a contract or rule violation. But for those that do, Lottery wants to avoid contract termination when possible.

Under the proposal, for low or moderate risk violations, Lottery will continue to give verbal or written instruction or require corrective action. For more serious violations, Lottery may reduce the retailer’s compensation for one week in lieu of contract termination, allowing the retailer to gain compliance and continue to earn commissions.
