Alvadore Store Celebrates First Jackpot Win!
Excitement is buzzing in Lane County’s Alvadore community after a winning lottery ticket was sold at the Alvadore Gas & Store. Owners Hukam and Chandni Sharma earned an $81,000 bonus, their first jackpot selling bonus.
“It’s something I never expected because nothing like this happens here,” said Chandni. The couple plans to reinvest the bonus into their store by adding a kitchen and deli, fulfilling a longtime request from local farmworkers.
It’s exciting to see a locally owned business continue to invest in their future,” said Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells. Retailers help spark local growth, creating jobs, supporting small businesses, and strengthening neighborhoods. Every ticket sold contributes to Oregon’s shared success story.

Retail Contract Reminders

- If your location will be closed for five or more days, please call and let us know at least 14 days in advance. This includes closures for vacation, remodeling, repairs, or emergencies.

- Acceptable forms of prize payments are cash, check, or a combination of both. Money orders are not allowed per contract. We’re currently updating signage to reflect this.
Winner Anonymity Law Begins
As of September 27, a new law requires the names and addresses of lottery winners to be anonymous. Previously, a winner’s name was public record under Oregon’s public records law. Under House Bill 3115, Oregon Lottery may not publicly disclose a winner’s name and address without the winner’s written authorization. We’re making prize winners aware of this change.
