Oregon City Police Department Assists Homeless Veterans

The Oregon City Police Department used $26,664 in Oregon Lottery funding in 2019 to assist homeless veterans in their community. It is estimated that there are more than 1,300 homeless veterans in Oregon on any given night and many more who are at risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks and dismal living conditions, according to the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs. Since voters approved of it in 2016, the Oregon Lottery has been providing funding for veterans services around the state.
