Oregon Lottery Offers Fun Wagers for Super Bowl Game

February 9, 2023

Salem, Ore. – With more than 890 betting options for this weekend’s Super Bowl, fans can get in on the action through Oregon Lottery’s DraftKings Sportsbook.

Player betting options range from who wins the coin toss to whether there’s a scorigami (a score that’s never happened before). These “prop bets” add fun to the big game experience. Some examples of the prop bets being offered this year include:

  • What color will the Gatorade be that is dumped on the winning coach?
  • Was the coin toss heads or tails?
  • Which quarterback throws for most passing yards?
  • Who will be the game’s MVP?
  • Will defenses hold up for a scoreless quarter?

Last year, Oregon players placed more than 245,000 bets during the game with a value of $4.5 million. The last game of the NFL season generated more than $913,000 in revenue for Oregon. Several Oregonians won big last year, including one player cashing in a $50,000 prize as a result of a low risk, high reward parlay bet.

Oregon Lottery debuted sports betting in October 2019 and since that time, a total of $1.15 billion has been wagered. Oregon Lottery’s Sports Betting Products Manager Kerry Hemphill said the Super Bowl is America’s most popular sporting event of the year.

“With celebrities, noteworthy commercials and big plays, the fanfare of the Super Bowl makes it one of the biggest revenue opportunities of the year for sports betting in Oregon,” said Hemphill.
