Boop-Boop-a-Suit
Created in the 1930s, Betty Boop™first appeared as a dog with womanly attributes. She became a full-fledged human vixen and caused quite a stir with the body of Mae West and ad-lib singing style of Helen Kane, a famous Vaudeville performer. Kane’s vocal calling card, “boop-boop-a-doop” quickly became a Boopism causing Kane to sue Betty’s creator… and lose. Even the law loved Betty.
