Fort Stevens State Park

Lottery Funds are Restoring History

Clatsop County, OR Imagine a 4,100 acre playground, right on the beach, filled with all kinds of fun things to do. Fortunately, there is such a place right here in Oregon - Fort Stevens State Park. Oregon Lottery® dollars have helped restore Forts Stevens State Park by improving campgrounds, paving a nine mile bike trail, creating a yurt village and also added a recycling center to encourage responsible camping. Originally a military defense installation at the mouth of the Columbia River, Fort Stevens served for 84 years beginning with the Civil War and closed service at the end of World War II.

Today, Fort Stevens is a vibrant state park offering tourists an exploration of military history, natural scenic beauty and endless recreational opportunities. Enjoy its camping, beachcombing, freshwater lake swimming, trails and wildlife viewing. Explore an historic shipwreck and walk in the footsteps of U.S. soldiers in a 90 year-old underground gun battery.

The Oregon Lottery, doing good things for Oregon and its state parks.
