November 4, 2013 - Salem, Oregon

Casey Benshoof has faithfully purchased tickets for each of the Oregon Lottery®'s 11 RaffleSM games. It turns out that the 11th time was the charm!

Benshoof, 35, of St. Helens bought a total of three Halloween RaffleSM tickets at various points during the limited time the 250,000 tickets were available. It was ticket 206736 that he purchased at the Shell Station in Scappoose that was the big winner. "I gave my three tickets to a bartender to check on the Lottery's barcode reader," Benshoof said. "Two said 'Not a Winner,' but one said I needed to go to Salem. The bartender printed out the winning numbers for the Raffle and said, 'You won $1 million!'"

Benshoof claimed his prize at the Lottery office in Salem on Nov. 1. Asked what he plans to do with his after-taxes winnings of over $640,000, Benshoof said, "Be smart. But I think a trip to Hawaii would be fun."

In addition to the one $1 million top prize, the Halloween Raffle game also offered these prizes:
  • 10 prizes of $20,000
  • 1,000 prizes of $100

As of Nov. 4, three of the 10 prizes of $20,000 had been claimed. The Lottery urges all Halloween Raffle ticket holders to sign the back of their ticket and check their numbers carefully.

A list of all the winning Halloween Raffle numbers can be found on the Oregon Lottery website at oregonlottery.org. Players should also check their tickets at an Oregon Lottery retail location.

There will be no Thanksgiving Raffle. The next Raffle game will be the St. Patrick's Day Raffle. Tickets for the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle go on sale Sunday, January 12, 2014.

Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned over $8 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and watershed enhancements. For more information on the Oregon Lottery visit oregonlottery.org.
